Rural hospital closures have reached unprecedented levels, jeopardizing critical healthcare services for the 61 million residents of rural America. Formed in 2020 to address this crisis, the Rural Health Redesign Center (RHRC) established the Rural Emergency Hospital Technical Assistance Center (REH-TAC)—a federally funded program designed to preserve essential care in rural communities. Despite its importance, the REH-TAC’s offerings were not effectively communicated online: outdated information and poor site navigation limited visibility and hindered user engagement.
Increase annual REH-TAC webpage visits to 10,000 users by modernizing RHRC’s digital presence and delivering a seamless, mobile-friendly user experience. This initiative aimed to raise awareness of rural-focused technical assistance services, enhance navigation and branding, and improve accessibility—ultimately ensuring rural hospitals can easily find the support they need to stay open and serve their communities.
By conducting a Google Analytics review and a comprehensive UX audit, JSR Strategies overhauled the RHRC’s website architecture, design, and performance. This data-driven redesign optimized mobile responsiveness, streamlined navigation, and refreshed the brand identity. As a result, rural healthcare stakeholders now experience quicker load times, more intuitive pathways to critical resources, and a brand image that aligns with RHRC’s mission of sustaining rural hospitals.
