Proper waste disposal can be tricky, but Placer County simplifies recycling by sorting recyclables and compost for residents. Residents simply toss trash into one bin, and the Western Placer Waste Management Authority (WPWMA) handles the sorting. However, information about this single-bin system was hard to find, scattered across multiple outdated websites.
To fix this, the WPWMA hired a marketing consultant to research how to combine three websites—WPWMA.ca.gov, RenewablePlacer.com, and PlacerRecycles.com—into a modern, user-friendly site for both corporate and consumer audiences.
The new website was designed to enhance visuals, boost user engagement, foster community participation, and increase interactivity. Its ultimate goal is to serve as a valuable resource, helping users learn the correct methods for waste disposal.
The WPWMA.ca.gov website is a testament to JSR Strategies’ ability to create impactful digital experiences that drive education, engagement, and environmental stewardship. This website exemplifies excellence in digital marketing and communications for the public sector. We are honored to present this project for consideration and believe it stands as a model for how digital platforms can contribute to sustainability education and community involvement.
